The Best: Shower Curtains

Funnily enough, my soap dishes post last week (yes, soap dishes) got me to thinking about the bathroom more generally. In particular about how to imbue it with some personality whilst also being stylish and, of course, modern.

Now, most of us Londoners have to live with the shower over bath arrangement. Doing so involves, you guessed it, a shower curtain. So here are five of my top choices for upgrading that oh so ignored piece of kit!

PS, this was not easy - the ruffles, flowers and frills were seemingly never ending...

1) Marimekko Hetkiä/Moments Shower Curtain (£53.00)

Bloody expensive for a shower curtain I'll admit, but Finnish brand Marimekko are pioneers when it comes this kind of thing. And this is just one example of their premier work in the area. The city scene here is perfect for your loft apartment, and in my opinion will stand the test of time. If you're after something more bright and cheerful there's plenty of that in other Marimekko designs!

I couldn't ignore Ikea when it came to this post, so here's a solid and chic option from the Swedish behemoth. The monochrome design will always be classy, and as a major plus the black lining at the bottom is going to better hide all that gross-ness that we know clings to our otherwise helpful curtain!

If you're looking to bring a bit of nature indoors, then this option from Urban Outfitters may do it for you. Although there'll be no changing it with the seasons...*dead silence for truly awful pun*

Bring some colour into your life! Cafe Press have a million and one different shower curtain options to choose from, so you should find something to your taste here. This one has that Aztec-vibe going on that I quite like.

Maybe you've just moved to the big city, or perhaps you just want to swat up in advance of the pub quiz on Thursday night. Well, either way a tube map shower curtain might be useful.

And I believe you can also buy a similar curtain for the Paris Metro, New York Subway or Tokyo Metro, so you can go international too if you're so inclined.

Question: how many stations in the London Underground network? Answers on a postcard...
